Gyros, “tarte chinoise“, kielbasa, “les cretons”, crêpes, “le boudin”, sauerkraut, pierogies, borscht, kabab, pizza, Chinese chicken fried rice, Galumpkis,”les beignets“, gołąbki, Irish stew, spaghetti, goulash, un ragout, matzah balls, salami, and much more! All these stomach delights were easily available to anyone ready to dare experience a new taste treat.

Clearly, the variety of available cultural extravagances added much to the usual, bland, New England fare that had once only barely sustained those brave Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock in 1620. Life without “le gout de cuisine” could hardly satisfy a hard-working Trappist monk back in his cell preparing for meditations and the matins.
